TRIP SUMMARY

This Manul Photography Tour offers a rare and ethical wildlife experience in Mongolia’s Eastern Steppe and Gobi Desert, guided by local biologists and conservationists. Based in the remote Kherlentoono Nature Reserve, you’ll track the elusive Manul (Pallas’s cat) and other steppe wildlife, living like a field biologist—observing, learning, and exploring vast grasslands. Our team’s field expertise makes encounters with the Manul a regular highlight of this tour. Accommodations are in community-run ger hostels, offering authentic nomadic hospitality while directly supporting local livelihoods.

Throughout the journey, you’ll also have the opportunity to observe a variety of other wildlife and rare steppe birds in their natural habitats. This tour is defined by its commitment to ethical observation, community partnership, and real conservation impact—an immersive opportunity for wildlife photographers, nature lovers, and conscious travelers alike.
