TRIP SUMMARY

Mongolia is the second-largest provider of cashmere in the world. Cashmere is a thin layer of hair that grows underneath the goats’ belly. It is also one of the main sources of income for Mongolian nomads. Each spring, herders comb the cashmere from the goats, which is then bagged and sold to cashmere factories. Raw cashmere is washed, sorted, and dyed in various colors to be woven into final products. This exclusive tour allows you to see the entire process in one trip. First, visit a herder family outside Ulaanbaatar, followed by a tour of the Gobi Cashmere Factory, the first and largest of its kind in the city.
