Mongolian Cashmere Experience

(Date: April to June)

TRIP SUMMARY

Mongolia is the world’s second-largest producer of cashmere, a fine, soft fiber found beneath the belly hair of goats. For Mongolian nomads, cashmere is not only a vital income source but also a deeply rooted part of their traditional way of life. Each spring, herders carefully comb the fiber from their goats, then bag and sell it to processing factories. There, the raw cashmere is washed, sorted, dyed, and woven into luxurious final products. This exclusive tour offers a rare opportunity to witness the entire journey—from pasture to product. You’ll begin with a visit to a herder family outside Ulaanbaatar, then tour the Gobi Cashmere Factory, the first and largest of its kind in the city.
